With more than two decades of experience in mortgage banking, private lending, and real estate investment, Stephen has established himself as one of the nation’s foremost authorities in asset-based lending and real estate finance.

Over the course of his career, Stephen has overseen the origination and management of hundreds of millions of dollars in residential and investment real estate loans.
His expertise spans DSCR lending, bridge financing, fix-and-flip loans, construction financing, and long-term portfolio lending. Known for his ability to structure sophisticated financing solutions for complex borrower scenarios, Stephen has helped thousands of investors acquire, renovate, and scale real estate portfolios nationwide.
His approach combines deep lending knowledge with a practical understanding of real estate investment, allowing him to structure capital solutions that support both immediate financing needs and long-term investment goals.
Executive Leadership Across the Mortgage Industry
Before founding The Trye Group, Stephen held executive leadership positions with several nationally recognized mortgage institutions, including Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG), Guaranteed Rate, Annie Mac Home Mortgage, Fidelity Direct Mortgage, and Great Oak Lending Partners.
Throughout these roles, Stephen served as a Branch Manager and senior lending executive, where he led high-performing teams, managed branch profitability, recruited and mentored top-performing loan officers, and consistently delivered multimillion-dollar monthly production.
These experiences helped shape his leadership philosophy and provided him with a deep understanding of mortgage operations, lending strategy, team development, production management, and the evolving needs of real estate investors.
Building The Trye Group & Advancing Real Estate Finance
In 2021, Stephen founded The Trye Group LLC to create a faster, more flexible, investor-focused lending platform. Today, the firm provides asset-based financing solutions to investors, developers, and business owners nationwide.
As both a lending executive and active real estate investor, Stephen brings hands-on experience in acquisitions, redevelopment, portfolio growth, and long-term wealth creation.
His industry recognition includes the Presidential Club at Annie Mac Home Mortgage and Black Professional Men’s Man of the Year. He has also contributed mortgage-market analysis in Baltimore and served as Resident Mortgage Advisor for BMore News Radio.
